With Scrooge: His relationship with the world’s richest duck is complicated. Abner never accepted Scrooge as a part of the family (nor as a relative), he was cut off by his prejudice against millionaires and abuse of power, while Scrooge also judged him to be a barbarian, thinking only of himself.
In spite of the time, they never got along, even with each other’s intercessions, there is an air of tension between the woodcutter and the Scotsman.
With Huey, Dewey and Louie: He became quickly attached to the triplets from the first time he saw them; watching as “the Ducks grow”.
He usually treats them well, gives them gifts whenever he can (for money), often plays innocent tricks on them, his favorite is Huey (for some similarities with Fethry and himself).
With Webby: With the little Vanderquack is very different from that of the triplets, he sees her as a child with delusions of grandeur and not as the explorer she claims.
Webby has tried to show her that she is capable with surprise attacks, however, Abner usually wins her most of the time.
With Beakley: With the housekeeper he doesn’t get along well because of her friendship with Scrooge, he sees her as an assistant, but Mrs. Beakley does not let herself be carried away by the irascible attitude of the woodcutter. Though later on he would show his respect for her fighting skills.
With Launchpad: He is one of the few McDuck employees who likes Abner; for Abner he finds him a great man who helps and supports his loved ones, and also a possible ally, according to his words. However, Launchpad is in love with him, when he saw him for the first time, although he has the advantage of liking him, Abner calls him “brother-in-law”, because he thinks he is Della’s new boyfriend.Launchpad is one of the few who has managed to have a good relationship with Abner.
